Christmas Trees
During the 2021 Christmas Event, a player can change one of their own Uservault into a
Christmas Tree. The Uservault will remain a Christmas Tree until the 2021 Christmas Event ends. There are three kinds of Christmas Trees: Common, Rare, and Epic.
To upgrade your Uservault to a Christmas Tree, you need to use one of the Christmas Tree Construction Blueprints. These Blueprints are one-time-use only (they will be deleted from your inventory when you use them). To acquire each Christmas Tree Blueprint, you must progress through the Christmas Quest, during which you can trade
Candy Canes for the tree blueprints. Alternatively, you can purchase Christmas Tree Blueprints from the
Auction House with keys.

Very Important!: Your UV needs to be visible to turn it into a tree, you can't deploy a tree on a UV that is on cooldown for you. If you're planning ahead, consider leaving one of your uservaults unsolved so that if you get a Christmas Tree Construction Blueprint you have somewhere to put your tree.
Christmas 2021 Questline
This event is the first time a Questline System is introduced into the game.
Players who complete all steps of the Questline will be rewarded with "the big one" and can "tickle him" to open.
Quest Walkthrough
To start the quest, all you need to do is open the quest menu by clicking the quest icon on the far left of your screen, under the Leaderboard icon.

Christmas 2021 FAQ
Christmas Tree Questions
- Will Christmas Trees / Uservaults / System vaults drop crypto during the event?
- Yes. A Christmas Tree is just a user vault with a Christmas tree skin. It still acts like a user vault.
- How do I build a Christmas tree?
- Unlock the key block before a Christmas Tree block in the questline. For the common Christmas Tree, you’ll need to unlock the green key block. Then, collect candy canes by opening regular (non-Christmas tree) uservaults, system vaults or mystery boxes. You’ll need candy canes in order to unlock a Christmas tree construction blueprint quest block. Once you’ve obtained a Christmas tree blueprint, there is no cost to building a Christmas tree. Simply go to one of your uservaults, and “just stand close to your UV of choice and BOOM” (Illusionweaver).
- How long does a Christmas tree take to be built?
- It’s built instantly.
- If you’ve already opened your uservault before a uservault reset, can you still use a Christmas Tree construction blueprint on it?
- Illusionweaver: “my guess is that you can, but the tree won’t appear till the reset.”
- On which uservaults can you use Christmas tree construction blueprints?
- Just your own uservaults.
- Do I have to build Christmas trees in order to get the cubie blueprints? What if I’m travelling and won’t have access to my uservaults?
- No. You can get all the cubie blueprints from trees built by other hunters. You can scout for trees built by other hunters in the area you are visiting.
- How many Christmas trees can I build?
- Only one of each tier - common, rare and epic.
- Can I save Christmas tree blueprints?
- Illusionweaver suggested: “if you don’t use them, keep em for next year’s Christmas event to hit the ground running and be the first to grab the big one.”
Questline Questions
- Do I have to be at my Headquarters to access the questline menu?
- No. Illusionweaver said that “from now on, every event will have an event icon on the map below the leaderboards icon, tap on it to check event stuff”.
- How fast will the first player complete the entire questline?
- When asked if it could be done in a day, Illusionweaver replied, “no way lol”.
- Do you need to have a certain cubie equipped to get a blueprint to drop from a tree?
- No. The only time you need a certain cubie equipped is when you reach a cubie check block on the questline.
- What is the incentive to build my own trees when I can just mooch off other hunter’s trees?
- Several reasons:
- There’s a big chest at the end of the questline. You need to complete the quest line to open the chest.
- Think of all the keys you’ll get from all the hunters visiting your trees during the event. As a Christmas tree is just a skin on one of your uservaults, you will get 5% of the keys used on one of your Christmas trees.
- As Illusionweaver put it, be the hero of your town!
- Several reasons:
- What if I’m not one of the first 10 to open the big chest at the end of the Questline?
- Illusionweaver: “ow yeah even without the first 10, you will be very happy.”
Christmas Resources Questions
- Will different tiers of trees drop different amounts and types of resources?
- Yes, they drop different amounts. Illusionweaver also said “you won’t find epic resources from the common trees.” All non-Christmas tree vaults drop ONLY candy canes. You can only find resources to print your Christmas cubies from Christmas trees.
- Will there be a use for candy canes after the event?
- Illusionweaver replied: “I’m pretty sure we can come up with something that needs candy canes in the future.” In addition, he proposed, “little candy store structure?”
